Our beloved Mother Lillie B. Bond went home to be with the Lord on the morning of November 21, 2020 in the comfort of her home. She was surrounded by her loving family who were blessed by her legacy of 89 years on earth.Lillie was born in Haywood County, Brownsville, TN on November 16, 1931 to the late Prince and Lucy Mae (Palmer) Taylor. On January 10, 1953 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Willie F. Bond. Together they spent 54 blessed years together until the Lord called him home to glory in 2007. Lillie gave her life to Christ at a young age. She lived and exemplified a Christian life. She instilled the same Christian values into her family and was an epitome of a woman of Holiness. When her family relocated to Decatur, Illinois in 1956 they became members of the First Church of God in Christ. Where she served diligently and faithfully for decades. She served in many capacities thru the years. She was past president of the Mother’s Board and the Missionary Board. She served holy communion and sang in the choir. She always had a will and desire to serve the body of Christ.She was gifted with a unique singing voice. She was well known and was a frequently requested psalmist. The power in her voice was astounding and she sang under the anointing. Her favorite songs were “Thank You Lord”, “Trusting In My Jesus” and I Won’t Complain” just to name a few. During her period of employment, she worked for General Electric and did private residential work.She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was well known for her hospitality, her food, her hats, her smile and her praise to the Lord. Mother Bond loved her family and would often have family dinner feast during the holidays. Her love and her presence will be missed by all who knew her. Mother Lillie Bond leaves to cherish her memories of her children: Marilyn Cruz of Decatur, Willie I. Bond of Marietta, GA, Mark Bond of Moweaqua, IL, Jeffery Bond (Delorse) of Benicia, CA, Carnell (Petra) Bond of Assumption, IL and Annette Barnes (Jeffery) of Chicago, IL; brother, Ezell Taylor of Mansfield, OH; sister, Stella (David) Gambrell of Anderson, SC; a special daughter; Evelyn Hood, 15 grandchildren, over 40 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, relatives, her extended church family and many friends. Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Eddie L, Bond, and siblings; Prince Albert, Henry, Horace Taylor, LouGinger Transou.
