<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Carl Rhoads, age 87 of Linn, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Carl was born March 31, 1933, in Osage County, a son to the late Ambrose and Hulda (Helmig) Rhoads.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Carl attended Victor School.&nbsp; He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>On September 21, 1956, he was united in marriage to Bertha Rustemeyer in Jefferson City.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on April 1, 1997.&nbsp;</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Carl was a lifelong farmer, a blacksmith who was known for his knives, and owner/operator of Rhoads Toy Store for the last twenty years&nbsp;</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>He was a member of Mint Hill Church, past member of the Trail Riders and a member of VFW Post #4756 where he served on the honor guard team.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Carl enjoyed gigging fish, participating and attending tractor pulls all over the state.&nbsp; He enjoyed selling farm toys either from his store or traveling to shows where he loved visiting with people.&nbsp; You always knew where you stood with Carl.&nbsp; He greatest love was spending time with family and friends.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Carl is survived by his four children: Carla Reinkemeyer of Linn, Steve Rhoads and his wife LeAnne of Holts Summit, Tamara Rhoads Cigliana of Linn, and Tom Rhoads and his wife Christa of Linn; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>In addition to his parents and spouse of 40 years, Carl was preceded in death by: a daughter, Marsha Bush; three brothers, Arthur, Mann and Don Rhoads; a half-brother, Beryl Rhoads; four sisters, Verna Schaeperclaus, Clara Rhoads, Emma Jean Rhoads, Velva Rhoads; and a son-in-law, Gary Reinkemeyer. &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Morton Chapel in Linn.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Morton Chapel in Linn.&nbsp; Interment will follow in Linn Public Cemetery with full military honors.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mint Hill Church.</strong></span></em></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Chapel, Linn, Missouri (897-2214)&nbsp; www.mortonchapel.com</strong></span></em></span></p>

Carl Rhoads, age 87 of Linn, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Carl was born March 31, 1933, in Osage County, a son to the late Ambrose and Hulda (Helmig) Rhoads.

Carl attended Victor School.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Morton Chapel in Linn.  Interment will follow in Linn Public Cemetery with full military honors.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mint Hill Church.
