WILLIAM P. GIBBS William Prince Gibbs "Billy", 43, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020. The family will receive friends at the visitation from 5 to 8 pm, Fri., Nov. 27, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 on Saturday, December 18th. William Prince Gibbs was born into history on his name-sake Grand-father’s birthdate, Nov. 20, 1977 - Roland Prince Gibbs. Billy’s last communication on face book was in reference to his Birthday. His junior year in high school he flew alone to Mali, West Africa Where his Uncle Pat and Aunt Tena Walkinshaw were Missionaries to the Malians. When he came back he was a changed young man. He had an interest in being a jungle pilot. When he graduated high school, he went to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He heard they had a flight school for training Jungle pilots. He later learned that the flight school moved to Tennessee, but he stayed in Chicago where he met Amy. Amy had a missionary heritage being raised in Quito Ecuador where her parents were missionaries. Billy and Amy grew together in their love and faith. After college they were married in California on May 19, 2001. Isaac Joshua was born in California in 2003. Later they served as parents to missionary kids at the Black Forrest Academy in Germany, there also their second child was born, Micah Ransom. When they returned to the States, Katherine Grace their daughter was born in Kansas City, Kansas. Billy trained as an information technologist. Amy was a barista at various coffee shops until she and Billy found Eleos Coffee shop. Dan and Wendy Smith nourished Billy and Amy’s desire to reach people searching for Jesus, but did not know what they were searching for. Eventually they were commissioned to start an outreach in some other part of town. 3rd Space Coffee Shop was born of those desires to provide a place to relax and talk about the deeper things. Billy thought and felt deeply; it seems his desire was to birth thoughts and emotions in people’s hearts and minds about Jesus, that He died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried and that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures. He sketched words and set them on paper to display a moment set free in time that others may know there is a place for God deep within them Who can answer all of their questions. Billy died on his birthday NOV. 20, 2020. Billy was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Roland Prince and June Doris Gibbs, and Herman and Joyce Esry, and Aunt Pat Weiskirch. Survivors include: Wife, Amy Ruth, sons, Isaac Joshua, Micah Ransom, daughter, Katherine Grace. Parents Bill and Martha Gibbs, Sister Rosemarie and Craig Englis, Parents-in-Law Martin and Sharon Erickson, brothers-in-Law Dan and Anna Erickson, Jens and Annie Erickson. And numerous Aunts, Uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
