He married his longtime friend Sally Meyers on the first day of spring in 2014.

Together, their 19 grandchildren adored him.  They all had a connection with Rick that was authentic 19 different ways.  The little ones liked to feel his beard hair and ask him questions about it.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Sally Roehl; his father, Don (Evie) Roehl; his sisters and brothers: Wendy (Rick) Baierl, Jodi (Kevin) Border, Nancy (Lee) Szcyubialka, Karen Meyers (Dave), Judy Barbian, Veronica Meyers, Charles (Mary) Meyers, Joanne Szymanski, and Penny (Joel) Christensen; his children: Chad (Maria) Roehl, William Roehl (Nicole), Ricky Hoople, James (Terry) Hoople, Jessica (Pete) Dunbar, Jennifer (Kurt) Jepson, and Jill (Phil) Keenlance; his special niece, Brooke (Jax) Baierl; and many many more loving family members.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Lily Roehl; his parent in-laws, Fern and Leo Meyers; his grandparents: Minnie King and Frank and Leone Roehl; his aunt and uncle, Rodrick and June Roehl; and his brothers-in-law: William Meyers and Mark Barbian.
