Caroline C. Lynch

Mrs. Caroline C. Lynch, 94, of Amsterdam, passed away on Sunday November 22, 2020 at Capstone Center for Rehab & Nursing in Amsterdam. Born on January 19, 1926 in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Carlo and Angeline Mucci Sampone. She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was a 1943 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. Caroline first was employed at the former Chalmers Knitting Mill as a bookkeeper in Amsterdam. She later worked at the Edy Brush Company from 1961 until retiring in 1998. She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and enjoyed crocheting, reading and solving jigsaw puzzles. Caroline also enjoyed spending time with her family and was considered the family historian. Caroline was a Gold Star Mother. Her son Michael Lynch was killed in action during the Vietnam War. She is survived by her son Nicholas R. Lynch of Amsterdam. One granddaughter, Michelle Lynch of Gloversville, NY. Nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Caroline is also predeceased by her sisters, Rose Pezzente and Mary Galeazza. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Office for the Aging, 19 N. William St., Johnstown, NY 12095.
