Betty Jane Sell Obituary

Betty J. Sell, age 90, of Ashwaubenon passed away peacefully from natural causes in her home on November 18, 2020. Betty was born on May 24, 1930 to Edward and Marie Du Fresne.  She graduated from West High School and was an employee at JC Penney until she made the decision to stay at home and raise her four children.  She was a loving, caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Betty married Norbert Sell on October 2, 1954 and they celebrated 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2011. She was a faithful member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish.  Betty remained sharp-witted even into her later years and although she never attended a Green Bay Packer game in person, she  was a lifelong fan who never missed watching a game.  She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and one of her greatest joys was sharing in their accomplishments.

Betty is survived by her four children, Richard (Therese) Sell, Debra (Earl Ratledge) Sell-Ratledge, Thomas (Deb) Sell, Sharon (Joey) Aysien; nine grandchildren, Amie Sell, Kristina Sell, Alyssa  (Alex DiRe) Ratledge, Nathan (Stephanie Dawson) Sell, Tyler Ratledge, Shawn (Stefanie) Sell, Tasha (Jesse) VanEss, Siarah Aysien, Makayla Aysien; four great grandchildren, Ben, Elijah, Samuel and Ethan.

The family would like to extend a warm acknowledgement to her very talented hairstylist Mary DeNamur.  Betty truly looked forward to her weekly hair appointment with Mary and lunch afterwards.

A special thank you goes out to her wonderful neighbors, Tom & Carol Welhouse, Larry & Barb Kohl, Greg & Gail Kivi, Pete Holschuh, Elaine (Don) Muesbeck and Art (Rita) Lohrengel. Through their friendship, kindness and generosity, they helped Betty achieve her dream of living out the remainder of her life in the comfort of her own home.

Cremation has taken place at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Green Bay.  A private service for the immediate family will be held, along with a virtual service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5. 2020.  You may view the service live at 10:00 a.m. or after it is completed through the link in the obituary.
