Patricia "Patty" Oakes

On Monday, November 23, Patricia “Patty” Oakes, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt, passed away. Patty was born on January 2, 1957 in Syracuse to Thomas and Helen (Carroll) Gould. She attended Most Holy Rosary, followed by Corcoran High School, class of 1975. After graduation, she fell in love with the medical field and became an LPN, where she spent her entire career with Van Duyn Hospital. In 1979, she married Russell Oakes and was one hell of a Marine wife. Together they raised a daughter, Heather and son, Sean “Louie.” Patty was predeceased by her father, Thomas Gould. Surviving are her mother, Helen (Carroll) Gould of Baldwinsville; husband, Russell W. Oakes of Baldwinsville; daughter, Heather (Jason) Lewis of Baldwinsville; son, Sean (Lisa) Oakes of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Braydon, Angela, Spenser and Alivia; brothers, William, Timothy and Kevin (Gail) Gould; and many nieces, and nephews. Graveside services will be Saturday, November 28 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Face coverings are required. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Christmas Bureau.
