It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ida “Marguerite” (Toms) Morey announces her passing. Marguerite slipped peacefully into the arms of the Lord at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, NL on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her husband - Percy Morey (1998); parents - Clifford & Maryann Toms; parents-in-law - Pearce & Mabel Morey and siblings-in-law - Captain Cyril Morey, Major Leonard Monk and Jackie Martin. Left with many loving memories are her children - Byron Morey (Sharon), Fort McMurray, AB, Lloyd Morey (Sharon), Terry Morey (Sandra), both of La Scie, NL and Sharlene Morey (Stacey), St. Albert, AB; grandchildren - Shane Morey, Suzette O’Brien (Brody), Nikita Morey (Blair), Brady Morey (Kaitlyn), Brandon Morey, Cameron Critch (Holly) and Courtney Critch; great-grandchildren - Olivia Haas and Drew, Reece & Claire O’Brien; sister - Jessie Bath (Roy) and siblings-in-law - Major Ivy Monk, Ruby Martin, Captain Nellie Morey as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, Corps family and many friends. Public Visitation took place at The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL, on Friday, November 27th, 2020 from 1:00-5:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM following specific guidelines pertaining to the global pandemic and associated restrictions. Captain Kay Barnes conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL on Saturday, November 28th, 2020. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, La Scie, NL. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donation's may be made in Marguerite's memory to The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL. We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Marguerite's memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Morey family. “And when from earth’s cares I arise and pass through the portals above, will shouts, ‘welcome home to the skies!’ resound through the regions of love? The beautiful gates will unfold, the home of the blood-washed I’ll see; the city of saints I’ll behold!
