With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Stephen (Koko) Billy on November 24, 2020. He was born on October 22, 1936 in Michel/Natal to parents Andy & Cecilia (Cil) Billy.

In 1990 Steve married the love of his life, Leah.  Steve and Leah enjoyed 30 years of marriage and in 1991 their daughter Ashley was born.

Steve lived in the Elk Valley for most of his life. He started working at the young age of 12 doing various odd jobs.  Steve was a very dedicated, hardworking husband and father.  He worked for Greenhills for many years and retired from mining in 1992.   Steve also worked in construction building the Rogers Pass.

Steve very much enjoyed being in the outdoors.  In the early 70's, Steve, along with his father and 3 uncles had a gold claim on Mt. Peck named Koko Claims.  Steve was a very dedicated hunter, hunting mainly sheep.  He loved the mountains.  He was also famous for his stories, especially the story about the Elk Valley Sasquatch.

He will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Leah and his fur baby "Yoyo".

Steve was predeceased by his daughter Ashley, his parents, and sisters Roseali & Carol Anne. He will be missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
