Maj. Louis A. Davis, 69, of Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at UVM in Burlington, VT, survived by his wife of 20 years Susan. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 16, 1950, the son of Leo and Frances (McMurray) Davis. Louis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Major after 22 years of service. Following his honorable discharge, he stayed busy working for Clinton County Mental Health, as well as a Probation Officer and a Victim’s Advocate. Louis was a passionate New York sports fan, cheering the Yankees, Bills and Sabres. In his free time, Louis could be found caring for his yard or out on the golf course. He enjoyed his spring trips to North Myrtle Beach with special North Country Friends. His greatest joys were his son and grandchildren, attending his “kids” sporting events and dance recitals. He will be missed for his humble attitude and known to put others before himself. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Matthew, step-children Joseph (Randy Rabideau) Faubert, Damian Faubert, Adam (Pam) Faubert, his grandchildren; Gabriel, Ella, Landon, Ava and Silas Faubert, his siblings Mary Davis, Patricia (Dennis) Stauffer, John Davis, his sisters-in-law Paula Davis-Wilson, Beth Walker, Denise Peterson, Kristine Moore, LuAnn Phillips, PattiLou Hunt, brother-in-law Scott Martel and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Joseph. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 2:00-5:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 30, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain, NY. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
