Tabor City, North Carolina Mr. Justin Matthew Bailey, Sr., age 86, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020. Mr. Bailey was born on August 2, 1934 in Dillon, SC, to the late Justin Bailey and the late Pearlie Mae Ivey Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a jack of all trades and throughout his life worked as a commercial painter, specializing in water towers and commercial properties, he owned a stump grinding business, and Bailey’s Taxi Service. He was a generous and giving soul who never met a stranger. In his free time he was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, he enjoyed fishing, and old westerns on Grit TV. He also enjoyed baking pies and cakes and shopping for vegetables in open markets, much of which he gave to family and friends. Survivors include his two sons, Justin Matthew Bailey, Jr., and Tony Bailey; two daughters, Sharon Ann Baker and Terri Bailey; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bryan Bailey and Carrol Burgoins; and two sisters, Marilyn Bailey and Maxine Bryant. Mr. Bailey was predeceased by his son, Larry Bailey; daughter, Tess Troust; grandchild, Hunter Bailey; brother, Jack Bailey; and two sisters, Carolyn Turner and Mildred Barnes. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Hardwick Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Steven Jacobs officiating.
