Edna Bernadine Bowser Obituary

Edna Bernadine Bowser, 91, of Friendsville, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD. Born December 15, 1928, in Markleysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Carrie (Glover) Fearer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Bowser; four brothers, Everett, Ralph, Wilbur and Clarence; three sisters, Ruth Honsaker, Evelyn Fike and Pauline Kuhn. Bernadine was a member of the Sand Spring Church of God and the Sand Spring WCSC. She held several jobs during her life as a clerk at Schlosnagle’s Grocery Store, a cafeteria worker at Northern High School and a member of the cleaning staff at Will O’ Wisp. She was known as Nanny B by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who loved visiting with her and listening to her stories. She was always known for her bright smile and loved to be with people. She is survived by her four children, Carol (Dale) Sisler, Larry Bowser and Bobbi (Tim) Sisler, all of Friendsville; Connie (Rick) Brenneman, Accident, MD; 14 grandchildren, Tim (Jeanne) Sisler, Judy (Danny) Sines, Kerri (Vince) Show, Katie (Jeremy) Reed, Tabitha (Wayne) Hess, Melissa (Mike) Frantz, David (Jennifer) Brenneman, Jeremy (Kathlyn) Brenneman, Adam (Kimberly) Brenneman, Emily (Robert) Stark, Andrew (Krista) Sisler, Daniel (Lynette) Sisler, Rachel (Jeffrey) Bittinger and Abigail; she was also the proud great-grandma to 25 great-grandchildren with #26 due in December; and 4 step-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Goodwill Mennonite Home staff for their excellent care and concern they provided during Bernadine’s stay. A service will be held in the Sand Spring Church of God on Friday, November 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dana Umbel officiating. Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, is assisting the family the arrangements.
