VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte, on Friday, November 27, 2020 for Joseph Louis Wedlock, 78, who passed away on November 22, 2020 in Ville Platte, LA.

Father Mitch Guidry, pastor at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services.

Burial will take place at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Joseph Louis Wedlock was born on November 27, 1941 in Lafayette, LA to Joseph Mason Wedlock and Grace Latiolais Wedlock.  Joseph was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  He worked hard and was a great provider for his family.  He enjoyed watching television, especially wrestling and westerns. He also enjoyed spending time outside bar-b-queuing and cooking fried chicken. His greatest love was the love he had for his wife and family. Joseph loved spending time with his family making many beautiful memories.  His family and friends will miss him dearly.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Emma West Wedlock; three sons, Mason Todd Wedlock and wife, Marsha of New York, Michael Chad Wedlock and wife, Cherie of Rayne, and Shane David Wedlock; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Earl Wedlock of Ville Platte.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Mason Wedlock and Grace Latiolais Wedlock; and two sisters, Fannie Lee Sonnier and Diana Wedlock.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Thursday, November 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume at Ardoin’s Funeral Home on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
