Doreen M. Stacy

WINSTED – STACY – Doreen M. (Varney) Stacy, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late Richard “Dick” J. Stacy for 56 years, who passed away earlier this year. Born June 22, 1943 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Doris (Anderson) Varney. Doreen was a very devoted, caring wife, mother, grandma and gigi. She worked for many years at Stop & Shop in Winsted. She was an avid Yankees fan often yelling and cheering loudly at the TV. She loved Bingo. She also loved elephants, angels, bells and Elvis. Doreen had a beautiful singing voice. She leaves her beloved children, Richard L. Stacy and wife Kathy, Teresa Stacy and husband Clinton Hoxie and Michael P. Stacy and wife Kim, all of Winsted; grandchildren, Melissa Woodtke and husband Rob of NJ, Rachael Grohs of Winsted, Amanda Hoxie of Winsted and Brianna Stacy of Winsted; great grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Woodtke, Aubree Morin and Brooklynn Mallette, Colbe Pape and one on the way; siblings, Patty Sisson of Torrington, Diane Doyle of SC, Anita Lafavere of NY and Wayne Varney of Torrington; sister-in-law, Barbara Reeve of FL; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Stacy; brother, Raymond E. Varney; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Mary Stacy; daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Stacy; sisters-in-law, Helen Maxwell, Doris Wetmore and Elizabeth Sullivan; brothers-in-law, David Reeve, Paul Maxwell, Clark Sisson and Robert Wetmore; niece, Susan Wetmore and nephew, Brian Wetmore. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Forest View Cemetery, Winsted at 11 AM; following the CDC guidelines for social distancing, masks required and if you are not feeling well please stay home.
