Carol Hunt, 90, of Creston, died Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Creston Specialty Care in Creston. Celebration of Life Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor Dave Tebbenkamp will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation with family receiving friends will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Masks and social distancing are mandatory at both visitation and the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Creston. Online condolences can be made at www.powersfh.com. Carol Marie Hunt, daughter of Myrtle Blanch (Wycoff) Martin and Orley Henry Martin, was born March 9, 1930 in Creston, Ia. Carol graduated from Creston High School in 1948. After graduation she continued her education at the University of Kansas graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education. Carol lived and taught in Kansas and Minnesota, before moving to Creston where she taught instrumental music for 11 years. She was also an active mother and homemaker. Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church in Creston, CARSPA Retirement Association and TOPS. #116. Carol loved music, playing her flute and piano, and listening to her favorite composer, Wagner. She served many years in the Sunday School office and led the Orchestra at First Baptist Church. Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
