HAROLD EARL BROWN BELFAST: Harold Earl Brown, 90, died on Monday, November 23, 2020, at his home in Belfast. He was born on December 1, 1929 in Morrill, a son of the late Wilbert Albra Brown and Annie Greenleaf Stuart Brown. When Harold was young, the family moved from Morrill to City Point in Belfast. Harold was a member of the Class of 1947 at Crosby High School, then served for almost 10 years with the Maine National Guard. During the fall of 1947, Harold along with several others from Belfast, went to Bar Harbor to fight the fires. In 1951, Harold married Robina Alice Mollison. One of his first jobs when he was younger, was working for Ambassador Robert Skinner at his home on Main Street in Belfast, then he and his twin brother worked at C.A. Paul’s garage. After he was out of school he worked on the docks in Searsport, then for Cianchette Construction in Pittsfield (now known as CINBRO), building roads, bridges and Hydro Dams all over the State. He also worked on building Air Force bases in Limestone and Brunswick. In the late 1950’s, Harold went to work for Mollison’s Inc, a family owned business and later ran the trucking division of Mollison’s. A talented mechanic, heavy Equipment operator and carpenter, Harold was an “all around fix-it” person. He especially enjoyed reading about the history of Morrill, as well as talking about the many trips he enjoyed around Maine and other areas. In 1960, Harold and his wife built their home on Belmont Avenue (now 215 Main St.) in Belfast which he took great pride in. He had a passion for old vehicles and old tools and enjoyed talking about them with family and friends. Harold looked forward to dining out for breakfast. In October of 1965, Harold became a volunteer fire fighter with the Belfast Fire Dept. along with his brother, Howard and his son, Duncan. In 1995, he retired from the department. An active Mason in the Phoenix Lodge #24 (now Belfast Masonic Lodge) and Many other Masonic bodies; including ANAH Shrine, where he also assisted in the construction of the current lodge hall in Belfast. He was also a member of the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Robina M. Brown, son Logan Brown; twin brother, Howard, brothers: Charles, and Willard; his in-laws, Allan and Imogene Mollison. Harold is survived by his children: Juanita “Chipper” Brown Berry; Duncan Brown and his companion Missy Fairfield; grandchild, Leana Berry; great-grandchildren: Rebecca and Anthony; sister-in-law, Imogene and her husband Richard McWilliam; as well as many, nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Harold’s memory may be made to ANAH Temple Shriner’s General Fund, 1404 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401 or to the Waldo County Shrine Charitable Trust P.O.
