Willie Mae Roberts
Willie Mae Roberts was born on January 28, 1938 in Atlanta, Ga to the late Lucius Jackson and the late Victoria (Cooper) Emery. There she met and married the late RJ Roberts. They married in Georgia and relocated to Detroit Michigan where their first two children Darnell and Angela were born. They later relocated to Paterson, NJ, and their children Debra, Christopher, and Sharon were born. She was employed by Preakness Hospital in Wayne, NJ for 29 years until she retired. She was a longtime member of Christ Temple Baptist Church in Paterson, NJ, under the leadership of the late Rev. Freddie Roberson and the late Rev. Gregory C. Turner, where she served on the Golden Hearts Ministry. Although she wasnt physically able to attend the church under Rev. Weldon McWilliam's leadership, however she enjoyed watching him on Facebook. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Her passions included reading, cross word puzzles, crocheting, and shopping. Her children would call her the QVC Queen. Willie Mae was a giving and loving person, you would never leave her home empty handed. She will also be remembered as having a great love for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Willie Mae departed this life on Friday November 20,2020. She was preceded in death by her son Christopher Roberts, her parents; Lucius Jackson, and Victoria (Cooper) Emery, and one son in law Kevin Pressey. She leaves to cherish precious memories: her children Darnell Roberts (Sharon), Angela Pressey, Debra Roberts, Sharon Wilson (Patrick), and daughter-in-law Yvonne Roberts. Her grandchildren Marlon, Christopher Jr, Corey, Cleavon, Jermar, Oneeka, Deanna, Cheyanne, Darnetta, Darnell Jr., Shannon, Sean, Jazmine, Patrick, Miles, and Brandy, 1 brother Douglas Emery of Atlanta, Ga, Sixteen great grandchildren and a special friend Valentine Parkes. She also leaves behind two sisters in law; Marion Holmes (Johnnie) of Hiltonia, Ga. and Ada Roberts of Ft. Lauderdale Fl. Cousins Margaret Anderson of Pensacola, FL and Edna Elaine Young of Atlanta, Ga. God daughter Ophelia McEachern of Paterson, NJ, devoted friends; Lola Smith of Bladenboro NC, and Magellan Ward of Paterson, NJ, and a host of nieces and nephews.Obituary
