Donna J. Nemeyer

Donna J. Nemeyer, 86, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Monday morning, November 23, 2020, at her home. DONNA JOANNE NEMEYER was born September 10, 1934 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of the late Bonnie Adkins and Dorothy (Gregg) Adkins. She was raised and received her early education in the Richmond community, until the age of fourteen, when she moved with her family to the Forest Grove community. Donna completed her schooling in Forest Grove, having been a graduate of the Forest Grove High School Class of 1951. She was united in marriage to Elwood Charles “Woody” Nemeyer on July 3, 1951 in Forest Grove, Oregon. Following their marriage, they resided in the Cornelius community for fifty-three years, until 2006, when they moved to the Forest Grove community, where she had resided since. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Woody, on December 13, 2012 in Hillsboro, Oregon, after celebrating over sixty-one years of marriage together. She and Woody owned and operated Forest Grove Floral, a wholesale delivery service for thirty years, until they retired. She also served as the bookkeeper. Donna also worked as a floral designer for Hill Florist in Hillsboro for seventeen years and later for OK Floral and Kane’s Cottage Florist in Forest Grove, for several years. Among her special interests, Donna enjoyed baking and cooking. Her forte was her hospitality and serving others. Donna was also preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie Adkins and Dorothy (Gregg) Adkins; her brother, Kenneth Adkins and her two sisters, Paula Schmidt and Robin Warner. Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Kathy Bauer, of Vernonia, Oregon; Karen and Tommy Clinch, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Charles and Tandy Nemeyer, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Lori and William Chapman, of Hillsboro, Oregon, of Hillsboro, Oregon and her sister, Brenda Meyers, of Beaverton, Oregon. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Kimberly Clements; Jesse Colon, Mattea Welsh; Terralyn Bauer; Jocelyn Vertress and Trevor Colon; her three great-grandchildren, Joshua Vertress; Addelyn Vertress and Lucas Vertress and several nieces and nephews.
