Harold Fields Obituary

A recording of Mr. Field's memorial service, that was previously live-streamed direct from our chapel, is available below.

Harold Fields, 86, of Dover, died Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.  The son of Martin and Floella (Russell) Fields, he was born October 16, 1934, in Hayti, Missouri.  He married Wanda (Almond) Fields, on January 5, 1957, in Flint, Michigan.

Harold & Wanda served as the custodians for First United Methodist of Russellville, retiring after 16 years.  Harold's grandchildren were said to be the absolute “apples of his eye.”  He was an avid fisherman, mainly interested in catching white bass, and mostly from his favorite spots along portions of the Arkansas River near Morrilton and Dardanelle. His “honey hole” spot to this day remains his secret.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joyce Wallis & Martina McFarland; a son, Harold Fields; and a daughter, Karen Milnikel.

His family lovingly remembering his life & legacy include his wife of 63 years, Wanda S. Fields; their daughter, Ella Mae McCann (Pat) of St. Joseph, Michigan; his son, Merle Meese and children of Michigan; his beloved grandchildren, Heather Holt (Mike) & children of St. Joseph, Michigan; Nathan McCann & children of Michigan; Jordan McCann of Michigan; Michael Milnikel (Brenda) & children of Dallas, TX, formerly of Dover; Matthew Minikel of Dover; and Tyler Minikel (Victoria) & children of Russellville; and his siblings, Wanda Carter, Paula McTigue, Judith Schrader, Charles Russell Fields and Randy Martin Fields.

A private family memorial service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Humphrey Funeral Chapel.  The service will be live-streamed for other family & friends to share.  The Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center will be in charge of Harold’s cremation with his cremains interred at a later date.  Internet obituary and on-line guest book are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com.
