George D. Higgenbotham

George D. Higgenbotham, 63 of Kincaid, died at 12:44 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Westside Care Center in West Frankfort. George was born on June 13, 1957 to George C. and Audrey (Easthope) Higgenbotham. George graduated from City Day, a private school in Springfield. He joined the United States Marines, rising to the rank of corporal. After serving his country, George worked in heating and cooling and loved helping others in any way he could. His faith was strong. He had a giving spirit and loved to donate money whenever he could to the church. George had a huge heart of gold and loved his family dearly. George is survived by his siblings: Linda (Nathan) Karlen of Alton, IL; Carol (Terence) Havard of Taylorville; Harry Higgenbotham of Lincoln, IL; John Higgenbotham of Springfield; Michael Higgenbotham of Springfield; nieces and nephews: Kenny (Ashleigh) Fears of O’Fallon, MO; David (Rae Ann) Fears of Perryville, MO; Audrey Franco of Alton, IL; Jim (Susan) Dearduff of Wood River, IL; Rocky (Chrysta) Higgenbotham of North Richland Hille, TX; Lori (John) Tews of Westcliffe, CO; Daniel (Crystal) Higgenbotham of Springfield; Brittani (Brandon) Dunkirk of Troy, IL; Brandi Havard of Denver, CO; and 12 great nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Sharon Fears; and one great niece: Alyssa Mason. A private family committal with military honors will take place at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salvage Dogs, 1000 East Bidwell, Taylorville, IL 62568.
