Obituary
On Monday, November 23, 2020, God extended his almighty hand of love and gently took Thomas Lofton, Jr. to a home of joy, peace, and happiness. Tom, as he was graciously known by his family and friends, was born on July 30, 1949 to the late Wilnette and Thomas Lofton, Sr.
Tom was educated in the Richmond Public School System. He joined Little Zion Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Virginia prior his to declining health. He was employed by Deep Water Terminal, Richmond, VA.
Tom was preceded in death by his sisters, Jettie Thompson, Mildred Lofton, and Katrina Lofton, and a special nephew, Christopher Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife and friend, Betsy Lofton; three children from a previous marriage, Rakel Lofton, Keven Page, and Tracey Lofton all of Richmond VA; seven step-children, Shawntae Sharpe, Yoneko Sharpe, and Sam Sharpe Jr., of Richmond, VA, Nepolean Sharpe, Shayla Newman, and Cabot Sharpe of Colonial Beach, VA, Galadreia Sharpe of Dahlgren, VA; forty-one grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Alberta Byrd; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Jett, Renee Johnson, and Arthenia Page; brothers-in-law, Gregory Byrd, Rev. Vance Page, and Michael Page; adevoted nephew, Rodney Lofton; nieces, Angela Elliott, Mikki Coleman, and Shannon Lofton; and a host of relatives and friends.
For all who had the pleasure of knowing, loving, and being loved by Tom, understand the great loss felt at this time. To know him was to love him
Graveside service for Thomas Lofton, Jr., will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1230PM at the Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 7748 Leedstown Road, Oak Grove, Virginia.
Walk through viewing (MASK REQUIRED) on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10AM until 12Noon in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.
