Addie Mae Burke Rose

Addie Mae Burke Rose, age 92, of Prestonsburg Kentucky peacefully passed away on November 23, 2020 after a short illness at her home surrounded by her children and other family. She was born January 9, 1928, in West Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Carrie Everett and Laura Elsie Fugitt Burke. In 1944 Addie met the love of her life Bennie Rose Jr. They married on June 25, 1945 in Winchester, Kentucky. She and Bennie were married for 52 years. They had seven children together. She became a Christian at the age of nineteen and remained a faithful servant of God for the rest of her life. She was a member of the Katy Friend Freewill Baptist Church for 73 years. After God, Addie's family was most important to her. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She worked the Blackcat Restaurant, KAI, Princess Manufacturing and retired from Piggy Wiggly Grocery. Addie is survived by her children Nancy A. Rose Gibson of Warsaw, IN, Charles E Rose (Sarah), Redgie Rose (Linda) both of Prestonsburg, Ky, Homer W Rose (Connie) of Salyersville, Ky, Ella L Rose Webb (Johnny), Devon Rose daughter-in-law both of Prestonsburg, Ky. 15 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 18 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Esther Mosley of Jackson, WI and Virginia (Robert) Myers of Warsaw, IN. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her Sons, Teddy B Rose age 18 months and Steven Rae Rose. Son-in-law Elbert Gibson. Brothers and Sisters, Charles & Paul Burke Twins, Anna Lee Burke Shepherd, Douglas Burke, John Burke & Malcom Burke Addie was a beloved Mother, Sister and Friend and will be missed by all that had the good fortune to know her. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 26, 2020 at 6pm and all day Friday at the church Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11am at Auxier Freewill Baptist Church, Auxier, Kentucky with James Van West & Jimmy Brown officiating Burial will follow at Richard Cemetery, Prestonsburg, Kentucky
