Vivian Marie Pyles

Vivian Marie Pyles, 94, Marion, passed away at 10:00 am on Friday, November 20, 2020, in her home. She was born in Marion on March 1, 1926, to Luther Frantz and Lucy (Sexton) Herring. On November 19, 1955, she married Virgil L. Pyles, who preceded her in death on September 17, 1979. Vivian graduated from Marion High School and worked in the cafeteria at Marion General Hospital, Village Pantry, Fox Photo, and the St. Martin Center. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marion, where she was involved in the Relief Society. Vivian enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She also loved music and had played the keyboard when able. She was a creative woman and liked making greeting cards. Vivian was an avid reader and helped teach lessons to the children at her church. She was loving, kind, and truthful and made an impact on those in her life. She was dedicated to serving the Lord and her church. Survivors include her daughters, Diana (Mark Miller) Wise of Gas City, Brenda (Larry Wyatt) Clark of Marion, Renita (Herschel) Lewis of Marion, and Melody Jones of Kokomo; son, Ronald (Kim Cottrell) Pyles of Marion; grandsons, Scott Gray, Darren Gray, Tom Dodson, Nolan Clark, Barton Clark, Nick Chambers, Bronson Chambers, Chris Pyles, Carvey Pyles, Adam Pyles, and Timothy Pyles; granddaughters, Camille Clark, Shalese Chambers, Erica Barnes, and Autumn Barnes; special great-grandson, Cameron Chambers; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and brother, John Frantz of OR. In addition to her loving husband, Vivian was preceded in death by her father, Luther Frantz; mother, Lucy Herring; sons, Gary Craig, Thomas Dodson, and Timothy Pyles; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Immediately following visitation, a service to celebrate Vivian's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Dennis Crook officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Heart to Heart Hospice, 1385 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN 46952 or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1465 E. Bradford St., Marion, IN 46952. For the safety of everyone in attendance, the family has requested that everyone wear a face mask. There will also be no funeral dinner following the service.
