Denise Lafaye Magee Pensacola, Florida Obituary

Denise Lafaye Magee

Denise Magee was a mother, wife, and compassionate LPN who spent her career caring for the elderly in skilled nursing facilities, a job many couldn't handle, and while Momma had her faults, she would have given the shirt off of her back to anyone who needed it. Caring for others was her forte. Denise was born in Pensacola, FL on August 17, 1962 to Hillard "Tilly" Malone, & Muryl Irene Malone (Worthy/Byler). Mom was a kind heart who had a rough life. She lost her father to cancer in the early 90's, and then her mother to COPD in 2001. Shortly after Hurricane Ivan destroyed her home, as it was being rebuilt Hurricane Dennis came through and devastated the home again. A year or two later her husband Howard Magee, had a stroke at 49 years old and as the ever devoted spouse, she gave up her career and cared for him until 2011 when she received a cancer diagnosis, shortly after dad lost his fight with the after-effects of his stroke. Denise never remarried, she mourned the loss of the love of her life until her death. Denise fought cancer hard in round one and was proclaimed the victor, and had 8 years cancer free before it reared its ugly head again. Though she was courageous, cancer beat her this time. Her golden heart stopped beating at the Covenant Hospice ward in Sacred Heart Hospital on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at 2:51 pm with Angel, Sarina, Adam, and Heather by her side. Denise is survived by her four children, Heather Roberts (Adam), Michelle Howton (William), Andrew Magee, and Angel Lunsford (Wayne); one brother, Michael Malone; Many grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
