James Buford “Mullet” Love, a resident of Lovetown, died Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his residence. He was 84. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Love Hill Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tony Deese officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 2:30 on Wednesday prior to service time. Mullett was born July 25, 1936 in Lovetown to Robert Reece and Lena Clarrice Moore Love. He was a lifelong resident of Lovetown and attended Cottonwood High School. He was employed with Hayes International (Pemco) as a sheet metal mechanic for 35 years prior to his retirement. He was engaged in farming all of his working career and enjoyed fishing. He also touched many lives during his career playing and coaching baseball, a sport he loved. Mullett is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nell Love; three sisters, Kathryn Bradshaw, Doris Hulse and Althea Love; and two brothers, Billy Gene Love and Rooster Love. He is survived by his daughter, Khristi L. Jones (Tony) of Lovetown; four grandchildren, Wyatt Jones, Beth Jones, J. P. Jones and Kendall Jones; a brother, Herman Love (Ann) of Lovetown; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be: Chris Love, Daniel Love, Blake Floyd, Caden Love, Tyler Love and Ricky Moore. Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements. (334) 699-3888.
