Obituary
Dwight Lamon Lewis of Little Rock was born April 5, 1974, in Crossett Arkansas to Marilyn and Carl Lewis and departed this world on November 19, 2020, in North Little Rock Arkansas. He was one of three children. He attended Long Beach Polytechnical High School and Long Beach City College.
Dwight was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 40th round of the 1994 Major League Baseball draft. He played several years of baseball in the minor and Canadian leagues for teams including the Idaho Falls Braves, the Brandon Grey Owls, and the Zion Pioneers. He retired due to injury.
He was married to Kristina Wolford. To this union were born two children Andre and Ashley Lewis. Dwight also has two other children Alexis Lewis and Megan Gruber.
Dwight enjoyed fishing, cooking, working on cars, and working on projects. He accepted Christ into his life in Long Beach California under the leadership of Reverend Jerome Fisher.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Robert and Novella Lewis, and A.D. and Versie Martin. Uncles Robert Lewis Jr., Franklin Lewis, Freddie Martin, and James Martin, and aunt Diane Martin.
He is survived by his parent Carl and Marilyn Lewis of Little Rock, AR; three daughters, Alexis Lewis of Dallas, Texas, Ashley Lewis of Lancaster, California and Megan Gruber of Jacksonville, Florida; One son Andre Lewis of Lancaster, California; two stepchildren Dakotah (Cody) Savage of Bryan, Texas and Chelstie Niccum of Fort Smith, Ar.; two brothers Tremain Lewis of Little Rock and Raphael Lewis of Mansfield, Texas. Aunts and Uncles include Ray and Debra Martin of Crossett, Ar.; Danny and Savannah Martin of Crossett, Ar.; Curtis and Jennifer Martin of Hamburg, Ar.; Larry and Vera Martin of Hamburg, Ar.; Erma Williams of Southfield, Il.; Maxine Lewis of Little Rock, Ar.; Troy and Sharon Lewis of Redford, Mi.; Arnetha and Calvin Grissom of Pine Bluff, Ar.; Gloetta and George Williams of Magnolia, Ar.; Lois Newton of Crossett, Ar.; Raynard Lewis of Jacksonville, Fl., Special friend Crystalyn Savage; ten nieces and nephews, three step-grandchildren and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the chapel on Friday, November 27, 2020.
