Norman Pearl Oeder

<p>Norman P. &quot;Norm&quot; Oeder, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, November 23, 2020, at his home after a lengthy illness.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;Born on July 22, 1930, in Sandusky, OH the son of Robert and Magdalene (Bluhne) Oeder.&nbsp; Norm was a 1949 graduate of Sandusky High School.&nbsp; He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served honorably during the Korean War from 1951 - 1953.&nbsp; Norm had worked for the Lorain Ford Motor Company for 50 years, before retiring.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;In his younger days, Norm had played Semi-Pro Football for the Sandusky Maroons as a splint end.&nbsp; He also, over the years, enjoyed fishing but he especially loved to get out and about and socialize with others when he could.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post # 83 and the U.A.W. Local # 425..<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;Norm is survived by two sons, Ray R. (Patty) Oeder and Keith N. Oeder, both of Sandusky; four granddaughters, Stephanie, Jessica, Kristen and Kyla; two great-grandsons, Logan and Aiden; and several nieces and nephews.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Floetta &quot;Flo&quot; (Schultz) Oeder on January 29, 2011; and his sisters and brothers.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;It was Norm&#39;s wish to be cremated.&nbsp; A &quot;Celebration of Life&quot; service will be held for him at a later date.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.<br /> &nbsp; &nbsp;Arrangements are entrusted to the David F.
