Brookland- Oval Rowland Beasley, 92, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was born November 15, 1928 in Beech Grove to the late Nolen and Wassie Rowland Beasley. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Beasley was a barber in Jonesboro for over forty years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed restoring older model trucks. He and his wife raised and sold Pomeranians for years. He never met a stranger and loved his family and playing with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Martha Elizabeth Beasley; a sister, Mae Wade and two brothers, Novel Beasley and J. F. Beasley.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Gary and Sandra Beasley of Jonesboro and Lynne and Bill Sheets of Paragould; sisters, Janie Ussery (Philip) and Margie Hastings all of Paragould: four grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Sean Flaherty, Julie and Chad Huffman, Alex and Kim Beasley and Jacob and Lindsay Sheets; seven great-grandchildren, Mabry Huffman, Clark Huffman, Nathan Beasley, Emma Beasley, Caroline Beasley, Andrew Sheets and Allison Sheets and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Brown’s Chapel Cemetery near Paragould with Alex Beasley officiating. Burial to follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
