We feel that we can't sum up the life of a 93-year-old. A loving, caring, humble, and giving man in a few paragraphs. Most may know this information, but we thought we would share this little bit. Vince was born and grew up in Welby, Colorado, the oldest of 5. Graduated from Regis High School and Regis University.
Vince entered the US Navy (even though he did not like the water) in 1945, the last months of World War II.
After returning home from the Navy he attended Regis University graduating with an Economics Degree. While going to college he did various jobs to support his family, one being a dog attendee for Mile High Kennel Club (he was not a dog lover).
Vince (Chick as his baseball teammates called him) was an avid sportsman. He played both baseball and basketball in High School and continued baseball in College. Baseball was his passion, and continued to play after College. Vince also played golf and bowled on weekly bases into his late 80's.
Vince was very giving of both his time and money, just a few examples: he coached his younger brother in High School Basketball, volunteering with St Vincent DePaul, served meals, made various donations, and he was a co-founder of the Notre Dame Golf Club.
He was a highly successful Lord's servant, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. All that were touched by his spirit and love. He will be missed but not forgotten.Vigil Service, Monday, November 30, 2020, 7:00 pm, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227.
