Howard Phillip Bechert reunited with God and his wife Wol Cha Bechert on November 18, 2020 at the age of 74. Phillip, Papa or “Baba” as he was affectionately called, was born on New Years’ Day in 1946 in Los Angeles, California to Howard & Christina Bechert. He attended Bible College but ended up working in the tech industry for Micron Technology for many years where he met Wol Cha, his wife of over eighteen years. Wol Cha had three children, Stephanie, Steven and Suzanna. He treated them as if they were his own children. He was always very loving and generous to his family. After Wol Cha passed away, he met Mona and was able to spend his last five years of joy with her. Phillip was the nicest man with a gentle heart that loved his family. He cared for his pets and even fed feral neighborhood cats and provided them a heated bed in the unused hot tub in the winter. He was gifted at sculpting and he could replicate a face or object in clay. He was handy around the house and could fix or build anything. He was very organized and just a wonderful, thoughtful person. Phillip is survived by his best friend Mona Walker; children Stephanie & Eric Elg, Steven & Amy Bramhall, and Suzanna Carlson; grandchildren Audrey & Andre Elg, Kara & Megan Bramhall; his sister Marie Wagenbach, niece Tina & Joseph Nooner, nephew Steven Rivas Sr., great nephew Steven Rivas Jr., great nieces Shara Canteros, Stephanie Tweedie and Tiffany Lower.
