Janice Louise Mosley was born in Clay County on December 27, 1952, and was the fourth child born to the parentage of the late Lillar Mae Albritten Gibson and Wiley Gibson.  On November 18, 2020 she entered into eternal rest at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Janice Mosley resided in Bluffton, GA. She was a faithful member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church; where she served as President of the Usher Board, Treasurer of the  Youth Department and Vice-President of the Missionary Department. She worked for the Clay County Sheriff Department for many years and later became a Care-giver for the Collins and Martin  families.  She was loved and cherished as if she was a part of their own family. 

She was a graduate of Speight High School, Class of 1969.  She was also preceded in death by two sons, SPC 4 Jeffrey Gibson and Maurice Mosley; a sister Willie Ruth Jackson; two brothers, Ricky Gibson and June Gibson.

Janice’s spirit will continue to live and be cherished by her son, Craig (Melissa) Gibson of Albany, GA; two grandchildren, Jalissa Gibson of Edison, GA who she raised as her own and Contrella Gibson of Atlanta, GA; two cherished great grandchildren, Aulazia Gibson and Jakiem Wright, both of Edison, GA; six  sisters, Audrey Powell, Joyce (Willie) Harris and Pamela Gibson, all of Bluffton, GA, Brenda Mitchell of Blakely, GA, Wylene Rowe of Albany, GA and Betty (Robert) Carter of Lawrenceville, GA; one brother, Rev. Michael (Judie) Walker of Edison, GA; two aunts, Georgia Mae Walker of Arlington, GA and Ophelia Walker of Orlando, FL; two special friends, Minnie Mitchell Johns of Edison, GA and Willie Cile Tinch of Albany, GA and a special sister-in-law, Shirley Jean (Marvin) Shaw.  Other family members to celebrate her life include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
