Robert M. Kinsey, Sr. of Clayton, Delaware passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2020 after a 20 year long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 66. Bobby will be remembered as a person that love to own, train and drive standardbred race horses and a generous person who worked hard to make the horse business the best it could be. Bobby got his “P” license at 20-years-old and was consider the hottest young driver on the circuit. In 1988 Bobby claimed “Leading Trainer” at Brandywine Raceway and “Leading Driver” at Dover Downs. Bobby is survived by his wife Louise of 42 years, two sons, Robert, Jr. (Jennie) and Preston. Bobby also leaves behind his parents Bill and Barbara Kinsey, of Clayton, in addition two sisters, Judy Rebar (Skip) and Sandy Thorstenson (Rich), one brother Bill Kinsey (Marnie) and two beautiful grandchildren, Scarlett Kinsey and Greyson Kinsey. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was blessed with a very close-knit family and many genuine friends too many to mention. Bobby also leaves behind a lifelong friend that visited him daily, John Griffin. Services for Bobby will be private and a celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.
