Elaine Walker Huseby

MISSOULA – Elaine W. Huseby, 70, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 at Village Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Elaine was born to the late Walter and Isabelle Snow, January 19th, 1950, in Windham, Connecticut. Elaine received her GED, an Associates Degree in Land Surveying from Flathead Valley Community College and went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Montana in 1984. Elaine was a dedicated Christian and a longtime member of Lolo Community Church. She loved nature, enjoyed hiking in the mountains, visiting with friends and family, tending to her gardens and going on missionary trips with her late husband to help those abroad. Elaine worked various jobs, including a land surveyor and picking cherries for the summer. Later she moved to Massachusetts to work in the computer science field but ultimately moved back to the place she loved, Montana. While continuing to work in the computer industry, she also proudly worked for the Department of Fire and Aviation as a database administrator in helping against the wildfires in Montana, Alaska, and Hurricane relief in both Florida and Louisiana. Elaine married the late Ralph Huseby in 1979, and they lived together in Lolo and then in Missoula, Montana. Elaine is survived by her son, Chad Gambino (Christina Hess), two grandsons, Jarod (age 19) and Ethan (age 12). She is also survived by cousins, Diana Kane and Dave Walker, and in-law family, Melva Campbell, Lois Ray (Larry), Ruby Willey. Elaine was predeceased by her loving husband in 2013. Elaine was in my Bible Study Fellowship group for several years and during that time we became good friends. She always came prepared for our lesson and joined in the discussion, often adding a humorous tidbit. She will be missed.
