Ernst Lionel Clem

Ernst Lionel Clem was born on March 14, 1927 to Linzy Edgar and Imo Dychie (Turner) Clem at their home in Vici, OK where he lived until the family moved to Grand Valley, CO. At the age of 12 they moved back to a farm in Sharon, OK.

Shortly after graduating from Sharon, OK, he joined the Navy where he served for a little over a year. On September 20, 1947 he was united in marriage to Ruth Ada Brittain and to this union four boys were born.

They moved to Pipestone, MN in 1949 where he took on the job as an accountant for Armour.
In early 1952 after returning home to visit, he left his family in Sharon and drove to Minnesota
and loaded up their belongings and returned to join his dad in a partnership of running a dairy farm where he operated it for about 30 years until all the boys left home. He was a rural mail carrier and also served as the State Steward for many years until retirement. He stayed on his farm until he moved into Providence Place and had just moved to the Vici Nursing Home where he left his earthly home to go to his heavenly home to join his family who went before him.

Lionel accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in his early 20’s and served as a Deacon and
dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Sharon, OK. Following in the footsteps of his
dad, he served as a Gideon. He enjoyed witnessing and sharing his faith and most of all his
amazing testimony.

He was an incredible jack of all trades, even creating some amazing inventions throughout his
years on the farm. He was a huge fan of John Wayne and even acquired the nickname, Uncle
John, by some of his nieces and nephews.

The memories of his ability to be a great storyteller will live on forever in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

Lionel was preceded in death by his parents Linzy and Dychie Clem, Loving wife Ruth, sons
Michael and Monty, brother and sister-in-law Donnie and Dollie Clem and brother-in-law Charles Kysar.

He is survived by his sister Sharon Bright and husband Kenneth of Virginia Beach, Virginia. His son Mark Clem and wife Sharon of Sharon and son Martin and wife Terry of Camargo,
daughter-in-law Pamela Clem of Edmond, Grandchildren Traci Ellison and Children Brittain and Cami of Woodward, Jeremy Clem and wife Andrea and children Cade and Cale of Leedey, Ryan Clem and wife Megan and their children Olivia, Hannah, Isabella, and Sophia of Woodward. Keri and Chad Chelf and their children Colt Clark, Adyson and Husband Seth
Thomason, Abi and Easton Chelf of Edmond, Matthew and Lea Clem of Estero, Florida. Mykel and Husband Eric McFall and children Kash, Kennedi, and Khloe of Leedey. Heath and wife Jandi Clem and children Connor, Colbie, and Creed of Leedey, and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
