Lee Roy Vaughn Obituary

Lee Roy Vaughn went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2020 in Tulsa. After a fall in August, and complication due to Dementia, his health diminished. He was born in Tupelo, OK to parents Everett Lee "Burl" and Beatrice Campbell Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Juanita Sligar of Wainwright OK. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army and served for two years and was stationed in Germany. After his return, he moved to Tulsa to work. It was in Tulsa that he spotted a beautiful blonde in the car next to him at a 50's drive in. Jo Ann had also moved from Enterprise, OK to Tulsa to go to work. They were married on April 3, 1958 and spent the next 62 years together in Tulsa.
Lee Roy retired from Tulsa Tube Bending in 1997 after working there more than 30 years as a welder. He retired at age 62 and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years. He loved fishing and working in the yard where he would spend hours, resulting in a beautiful well-manicured lawn. During retirement, he and JoAnn enjoyed trips to Europe, Hawaii, cruising the Caribbean and annual trips to Branson. He thoroughly enjoyed these travels with his wife and Nathan, but would have been content to be at home in his recliner.
He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn. Son and daughter-in-law, Keith & Joyce Vaughn, Tulsa. Daughter, Denise Long, Glenpool. Grandchildren, Nathan Wilkerson, Tyler Vaughn and wife, Julia and their twin daughters. Blake & Gentry, Austin Vaughn, and Jacob Long.
