<p>Sheila J. Kellar, 95, of Brewersville, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning November 22, 2020, at the home of her daughter Jean Klene.</p> <p>Sheila was born February 22, 1925, to Thomas and Winifred Wells Peart in Lambourn, Berkshire, England. She attended Church of England Lambourn School and Mrs. Spackman School of Business. During World War II she served in the Women’s Land Army from 1941-1943.</p> <p>On June 8, 1944, two days after D-Day, Sheila married Jesse Kenneth Kellar, an American soldier from the North Vernon area. The wedding was held at St. Michaels and All Angels Church in Lambourn, Berkshire, England. Her life in America started in February 1946 after her arrival in New York City having crossed the ocean on the Queen Mary.</p> <p>Sheila helped her husband on their mink ranch where they also raised strawberries and tobacco. She was a bookkeeper, worked for OVO, and retired as the assistant director of the Foster Grandparent Program in which she was instrumental in starting. She had served on the Senior Housing Board as well.</p> <p>She became a U.S. Citizen in 1950 and voted in every election. Sheila was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in North Vernon. Hobbies enjoyed by Sheila were knitting, crocheting, embroidering, reading, writing, and playing Scrabble.</p> <p>Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Money, son, Kenneth and Karen Kellar, and daughter, Jean and Rick Klene all of North Vernon; grandchildren, Ryan and Angie Money, of North Vernon, Rachel and Jeff Lubker of Brownstown, Fred and Sammy Klene of Vernon, Amy and Warren Walker of Seymour, Angie Klene, of North Vernon, and Aaron Klene of North Vernon; and nine great-grandchildren.</p> <p>Sheila often said that she had good parents, a good husband, and a good family.</p> <p>Preceding her in death were her husband in 1996, parents, brother, Bertram Peart, sister, Vivienne Hunter, and son-in-law, Michael Money.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the V.F.W. Post #2021 or Hospice.</p> <p>Due to the pandemic, there will be a private service held. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.</p>Obituary
