Joe Tidwell

Rembert “Joe” Tidwell, 73, resident of Lipscomb Avenue, widower of Joan Marie Wolff Tidwell, who preceded him by only four days, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born March 22, 1947, in Camden, he was a son of the late Frank Ashby Tidwell, Sr. and Emma Nichols Tidwell. Mr. Tidwell was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a retired owner/operator of an over-the-road 18-Wheeler truck, having driven for many years. He dearly loved all his children and they returned that love by being his best friends. Joe was an unsung hero, giving to many needy people. Surviving are three sons, Bob (Cami) Tidwell of Charleston, Steve (Jennifer) Tidwell of Conway and Joe (Angela) Tidwell of Beaufort; a daughter, Georganna Tidwell of Hodges; a sister, Emma Arlene “PeeWee” Tidwell Wilson of Camden; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date in Lugoff/Camden. The family are asking for prayers of comfort, peace, understanding and grace during this difficult time.
