ROCKVILLE-Dale Wesley Barnes, 84, of Rockville, Indiana passed away peacefully, in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care at 3:20 am Sunday November 22, 2020. He was born October 15, 1936 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Norval and Wilma Myers Barnes. He was a graduate of Bridgeton High School he then joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 with an honorable discharge in 1957. Dale continued his education at Indiana State University with a business degree. He married MaryJane Davies in March 1959 and she survives. He began his career with the Rockville National Bank in 1962 and retired after 37 years of service from Old National of Rockville in December of 1998. Additional survivors include one son, Mark D. (Karen) Barnes of Bloomingdale; one daughter, Durree Barnes of Avon; two grandsons, Dr. Wes (Dr. Danielle) Barnes of Southfield, Michigan and Neal (Noelle) Barnes of Fishers; two step-grandchildren, Danika (Brad) Craycraft and Bryan (Makenzi) Jones; two great-granddaughters, Evelyn and Emmie; and 5 step-great-grandchildren; his faithful buddy, Jeter; two nephews, Rick (Diane) Harpold and Jim Bob Harpold; two nieces, Kay Harpold of Rockville and Karen (Jeff) Crist of West Terre Haute; brother in law, Joe Hartman of Rockville; sister in law, Jo Ann Jeffries of Winchester, TN. He was preceded in death by a sister Charlotte (Bob) Harpold and a brother, Charles Jeffries, sister-in-law, Martha Jean Hartman, and brother-in-law, Bobby Davies. He was a member of the Bridgeton United Methodist Church, Parke Masonic lodge # 8 in Rockville, Indiana Bankers Association and was Past President of the Parke County Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the Rockville Town Council and Rockville Cemetery Board. Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 25, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery with military honors by Parke County veterans. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm Wednesday at Gooch Funeral Home. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Bloomindale Friends Cemetery, % 1304 W. Egg Farm Road, Rockville, IN 47872 or Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, 400 8th Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47804 in his memory.
