John Alan Rooks

Milton – John Alan Rooks, 62, died unexpectedly on Sunday November 22, 2020 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington following an unforeseen medical event. John was born in Norfork County, Virginia, on March 14, 1958, the son of John and Janet (Backus) Rooks. On June 20th, he married Sherry West in St. Albans, VT. John was a big Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He loved doing woodworking, cooking and old cars, especially his old Buick. He had worked at Subaru in Burlington for 13 years starting as a mechanic and eventually becoming shop foreman. He is survived by his wife Sherry of Milton, by his mother Janet Rooks of Franklin, CT., by his sisters Debbie McKenzie and Diana Rooks, both of Connecticut, by Sherry’s children Christie Mitchell and her partner Brian Ward of Highgate, Gary L. West and his wife Jessica of Essex, Marcy Stefaniak and her husband Eric of Franklin and Lindsay Ladd and her husband Stephen of Franklin and by their children Kimberly, David, Connor, Haley, Ethan, Jayden, Jeffory and Jaxson. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday November 28, 2020 from 4-6pm at the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. The funeral home requests that you follow the COVID standards by maintaining a safe distance, wearing a mask avoiding physical contact while attending visiting hours.
