Sherry Zimmerman, 72, of Webster passed away Sunday November 22, 2020 at Sanford Hospital, Webster. Private Memorial Service will be held on Monday November 30, 2020 at 1 PM. Will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Public Walk Through Visitation on Sunday November 29, 2020 at Fiksdal Funeral Service from 3-6 P.M. Sherry Lee (Peterson) Zimmerman was born in Aberdeen, SD on November 10, 1948 to Jerald W. Peterson and Patricia K. (McKane) Peterson. Sherry grew up on a family farm in Bristol, SD driving trucks and tractors and enjoying farm life. She attended Bristol school, graduating in 1967. During high school she was active in class play, student council, annual staff, a cheerleader and a class officer. After graduation she attended Watertown Business school. Sherry married Randy Zimmerman on July 25, 1967 at Bristol, SD and to that union two children were born, Perry Lee and Jodi Lynn. They made their home on a farm between Andover and Bristol, SD. Sherry started working at the Bristol School where she was the business manager for many years. Upon retirement from the school, she took over the Peterson family businesses. Sherry later moved to Webster where her grandkids and their friends spent lots of time with her. Sherry was always very active in the community, she was a big part of the Bristol Snow Queen contest for many years, she was in many clubs and organizations, served on many boards through the years, most recently, she on the Sun Dial Manor board, and volunteered doing the Webster Museum and Needs Anonymous bookkeeping. Sherry loved her grandchildren, Jarett, Briana, Colby, Logan, Jade and Janessa. She attended many ball games, Girl Scout ceremonies and supported them full heartly in whatever they did. She turned most of them into little fish, as she loved the water. Swimming was one of her favorite things when she was younger. Preceding Sherry in death were her father Jerry Peterson, sister Marie Bakke and grandparents. Sherry is survived by her mother Patricia "Pat" Peterson of Bristol, two children children Perry Zimmerman of Andover and Jodi (Larry) Storley of Roslyn, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
