April Irwin Obituary

April Ann Peay Irwin Springville April Irwin, 47, passed away in her home, unexpectedly on Saturday the 21st of November 2020 due to complications from a long fight with diabetes. April was born in Provo Utah on April 27, 1973 the youngest daughter of Laurence Gary Peay and Charlotte Wrathall Peay. April graduated from Springville High in 1992 and later took classes at Utah Valley University. In 1994 She married Samuel Joseph Irwin in the Jordan River LDS Temple. After struggling to have children they were blessed with a daughter, Samantha Hope Irwin, in April of 1999. In 2002 April and Sam adopted a baby boy, Nicholas Laurence Irwin. April's children were the greatest joy of her life and she loved nothing more than being a mom. She spent countless hours at dance rehearsals, basketball games, and softball and baseball games cheering and supporting her children. You always knew where April was sitting, when she cheered, she was ALWAYS the loudest one in the stands. April and Sam later divorced in 2017. April worked many jobs throughout her life. Including Teela's Taco's in Springville, Shoney's restaurant in Provo, and most recently at Grandma's House Daycare in Spanish Fork, to name a few. She loved her various jobs and exceled at all of them until she was forced to cut back due to her battle with type 1 Diabetes. She often said that her second family was at Shoney's restaurant where she was the Dining Room Manager. April was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving in the church. She served in various callings including Nursery, Primary, and Relief Society. She was well organized. Everyone loved attending the activities she oversaw. She never did anything unless she did it BIG! One of April's many joys was cooking. She was good at it and she loved doing it. You seldom left April's home without a treat or a home-made goodie. April was preceded in death by her father, Laurence Gary Peay. She is survived by her two children Samantha (Mason) Irwin of Spanish Fork, Nicholas Irwin of Spanish Fork; her mother Charlotte Wrathall Peay of Springville, her sisters Allyson (Carl) Johnson of Renton Washington, Angie (Brent) Simons of Springville, Andrea (John) Bate of Spanish Fork, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. April always had a cheerful attitude and a smile for those around her. She had the ability to make everyone around her feel important and loved. She was never afraid to give a smile or even a hug to those who needed it including total strangers. She will be greatly missed, and this world will seem a little less bright at her passing. Due to the pandemic, visitors to the services will be limited to invited guests only. A livestream session of the services will be offered on our facebook page, Spring Creek Utah County Mortuary. Condolences may be offered to the family on our website in the memory wall area.
