ROCKVILLE- Florence Evelyn Williams, 97, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 in her residence. She was born December 23, 1922 in Marshall, Indiana to the late Fred Swaim and Marguerite Myers Swaim. Her husband of 54 years, Marvin Paul Williams whom she married April 7, 1943 at the Bloomingdale Friends Church preceded her in death June 11, 1997. Survivors include three daughters, Irene (David) Wirth of Bloomingdale, Sharon (Randy) Reed of Rockville and Mary-Kay (Ron) Wheeler of Rockville; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Gilbert Swaim one sister, Elsie Cox and one great-grandson. She was a 1940 graduate of Bloomingdale High School and Utterback-Brown Business College in 1941 at Danville, Illinois. She was a secretary/bookkeeper for Millikan Cleaners in Danville and DuPont Plant in Newport. In 1944 she became bookkeeper and deputy auditor for Parke County until 1947. She and Marvin purchased the family farm and later the original Williams farm establishing Maple Lawn Poultry Farm. She was a lifelong member, trustee and organist for the Bloomingdale Friends Meeting Church. She also served as trustee for Bloomingdale Friends Cemetery. She served on the board of Parke County, Inc. and was Past President of Indiana State Maple Syrup Association serving on the board many years and now board member emeritus. She was also chosen as Parke County Woman of the Year. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Bloomingdale Friends Church, % 1304 W. Egg Farm Road, Rockville, IN 47872 in her memory.
