Minnie L Gildhouse, 93, of Arkansas City, died Saturday (November 21, 2020) at the South Central Kansas Medical Center. Private family graveside services will be held in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The casket will be open at the funeral home 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Those attending visitation are required to follow all Covid-19 mandates including the wearing of a mask and social distancing. Minnie was born August 11, 1927, Wauneta, on the family farm, to Ray and Goldie (Coon) Swisher. She was reared and educated in Sedan and attended local schools. She married Edgar L Gildhouse on October 15, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a homemaker, however did work at McClellen’s Five and Dime and Virginia’s Dress Shop. She was devoted member of the Hillcrest Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters Patricia and husband Bob Scott of Arkansas City, Virginia and husband Rusty Randol of Newkirk, Oklahoma; grandchildren Shelly Bogart, Christina and husband Michael Walton, Robin and husband Chris Tackett, LaNette Guidry, Rebecca and husband David Schwab; great-grandchildren Jason Legleiter, Candace Biggerstaff, Lori Virden, Ryan Tackett, Laken Morgan, Gavin Schwab, Dylan Schwab, Kendal Smith, Kailyn Walton, Braden Walton, Erica Barker; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her siblings Otis, Myrtle, Ilene, Ida Belle, and Nona. A memorial has been Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
