Hai D. Do Obituary

Hai D. Do, beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 18, 2020, at his home in Fairfax, VA, at the age of 73. He will be sadly missed by his wife Dieu Luong, daughters Anne Do and Mimi Do, and two grandchildren Hunter and Madeleine. Hai was a fighter throughout his nearly 12 years of illness and will always be remembered for his kind and loving spirit. Born in Vietnam on November 8, 1947, Hai was the son of the late Vuong Do and An Tran, and the second eldest of eight children. In the late '60s and early '70s, he served as a Lieutenant in the South Vietnamese Army opposing the Communist regime. Following the end of the Vietnam War, Hai endured three years in re-education camp and then came to the United States in 1979 with Dieu and 9-month-old Anne. Known as an exceptionally caring husband, Hai enjoyed playing tennis and traveling with his wife, as well as taking on home renovation and gardening projects. He also enjoyed playing Mahjong and Chinese chess and had a passion for films. A viewing service will be held on Saturday, November 28, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m., and Sunday, November 29, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home. Flowers may be sent to Fairfax Memorial at 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA.
