Irene Holloway

Irene Holloway, 82, of Weatherford passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 in a Ft. Worth hospital. She was born February 7, 1938, in Comanche County, Texas to Dave and Ida Mae Koen Read. Irene was an E.E.O Specialist for the US Army Corps of Engineers and retired after 27 dedicated years. She was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she served in leadership roles and taught Sunday school for many years prior to moving her membership to Community Baptist Church. She taught a Bible study class until March due to Covid restrictions. Irene was devoted to her family, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Holloway; two siblings; and by her grandson, Jacob Hunter. Irene is survived by her children, Lynn Ryan and husband T.E. of Weatherford, Vicki Hunter and husband Alton of Boyd, Sherri Wolfenberger and husband Travis of Peaster, Karl Holloway and wife Diane of Paducah, and Kevin Holloway and wife Tomara of Weatherford; sister, Dava Dean Wise of Conway, Arkansas; grandchildren, Michelle, Meredith, Maegan, Justin, Karlee, Kolbie, Karissa, Kaylee, Zachary, Nicholas, Grady, Cody, Dudley, Tracy, Kelly, Lisa, Terry, and Tonya and their spouses, as well as, 21 great grandchildren. She had many years of love and companionship with her Yorkie, Lexie. A graveside service honoring Irene will be held at Zion Hill Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020. Due to Covid concerns, masks and social distancing are highly encouraged.
