James Oakley Davis

SFC James Oakley “Jim” Davis (United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, November 21, 2020, at his home. He was 80 years old. A memorial service for SFC Davis will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 27, 2020, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Timothy Morgan and Reverend Bill Hart officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Full Military Honors will be presented following the service. The family will receive friends following the presentation of honors. SFC Davis was born August 28, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late George Washington Davis and Lois Jarrett Davis. He served the United States Army for fourteen years which included service in Vietnam as a flight medic. He then joined the Army National Guard where he served for eighteen years. SFC Davis loved the outdoors, fishing in the mountains and was also an avid reader. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Justice “Pat” Davis; four daughters, Cindy Davis, Sherry Davis, Katriona Davis and Elizabeth Davis; three sons, Bobby Davis, Kevin Davis and James Davis; two step-sons, Jason Nelson (Kirstin) and Russell Nelson Justice; grandchildren, Christopher Nelson, Katelynn Nelson, Connor Nelson, Carter Nelson, Alice Justice, Andrew Davis and Tyler Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
