Dave Evans, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away from complications of Parkinson’s on November 19, 2020. Dave was born November 29, 1941 to Harold and Lillian Evans in Tacoma, Washington.
He graduated from Wilson High School and Pacific Lutheran University, where he played on the golf teams, received his B.S. in mathematics, and met Karen, his wife of 56 years.
He would go on to receive an MBA from the University of Washington. After working briefly at Boeing, he spent nearly 30 years as a data analyst at John Fluke Manufacturing before retiring in 1998.
Dave was an accomplished golfer and played in dozens of tournaments over his lifetime. An avid fisherman and duck hunter, he also enjoyed traveling, picking blackberries, and following his favorite sports teams, especially the UW Huskies.
After retirement, Dave enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was a first-rate supporter of all his grandchildren, and he and Karen never missed an event, game, or birthday party. Dave was a member of University Presbyterian Church in Seattle.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, and his two sons Erik (daughter-in-law Stephanie) and Ryan (daughter-in-law Maely). Dave was a generous and kind grandfather to his six grandchildren: Bradley (23); Holly (21); Sydney (18); Jeffrey (17); Kate (14); and Drew (11). Dave is also survived by his brother Dick Evans and sister Kay Houg.
The family will have a private burial and a small memorial service for family to celebrate Dave’s life. The service will be livestreamed via YouTube on Sunday, December 20, 3:00 PM.
