Vaneta Joan Zerby Obituary

Vaneta Joan (Dickson) Zerby, age 84, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020, at her home.

Vaneta was born November 25, 1935, in Walnut Ridge, AR, to Orville Dickson and Elnora (Hathcoat) Dickson. She graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1954. She attended First Southern Baptist Church. Vaneta worked as a Bookkeeper and Receptionist at CTC Truck Repair. Her joy was her family.

Vaneta is survived by her sons, Brent Zerby (Regina) of Newburgh, IN, and Timothy Zerby (Linda) of Chandler, AR; daughter, Sharon Welliver (Jeff Carlon) of Bakersfield, CA; brothers, Leon Dickson (Madeline) and James Dickson (Cheryl); sister, Charlotte Dickson (Mark Jasper); 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Vaneta is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Dean A. Zerby, who passed away in 2017.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor David Cullison officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
