Linda Laird Beck Obituary

Linda Laird Fisher Beck, age 77, of Clinton Twp. and formerly of Romeo, passed away November 20, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born April 28, 1943, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Donald Sinclair and Annetta Jane (Small) Laird. She graduated from Seacrest High School in Delray Beach, Florida, in 1961, where during high school she was an officer for the International Order of the Rainbow Girls. She attended Florida Southern College and University of Maryland and later in life she received her Associates Degree from Macomb Community College where she worked as a secretary for 13 years in the Humanities Department. Linda married her beloved husband Richard M. Beck on December 29, 2006, at the Romeo United Methodist Church. She was the former wife of R. Bruce Fisher, III. Her family has a great tradition of Girl and Boy Scouts: her mother was her leader, she was her daughters’ leader, and her daughters served as leaders for their own children. She served as an officer for SALI, a National Stenciling Organization. In her spare time, she enjoyed creating works of art through quilting and painting. Linda was an active member of the Romeo United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for 35 years. She was known for her kindness to everyone and loved spending time with her family. She shall be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, Richard, loving children: Donna (Howard) Sheppard of Macomb and Elizabeth (Randy) Bart of Ray Twp. and her adored grandchildren Jacob Bart, Sarah Bart, Kaleb Bart, Aiden Sheppard, and Owen Sheppard; beloved brother Lt. Col. D. Jack Laird of Logenville, Georgia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, from 3:00pm – 8:00pm at Muir Funeral Home at 296 South Main, Romeo, Michigan 48065. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00AM at the Imlay City Muir Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center (2650 South Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI 48444) with Dr. Gary R. Glanville officiating. As blue was Linda’s favorite color, we ask that you wear it in her honor. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Due to COVID 19, friends and family are required to follow CDC guidelines. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center (296 South Main, Romeo, MI 48065).
