<p>Margaret Mae Beers, nee Britton, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 in her home at the age of 79 years and 11 months. She was born December 20, 1940 in Davisville, Missouri to Roy Estel Britton and Alice Mae Turnbough Britton. Margaret was united in marriage to Alfred Lavern Beers on November 11, 1956 in Cherryville and to this union three children were born.&nbsp;</p> <p>Margaret worked alongside her husband, Al, for 25 years at their businesses, Spare Rib Inn, Al&rsquo;s Hardware and Al&rsquo;s Caf&eacute; where she enjoyed visiting with customers and serving the community. She also was employed at Convy Shoe, Briggs and Stratton and later on at San-Val where she retired.&nbsp;</p> <p>Margaret was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church where she was a greeter and sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed Southern Gospel music and loved to sing and read. She also enjoyed rooting for the Cardinals and watching Wheel of Fortune. She was a volunteer for the Ministerial Alliance and the Food Pantry and looked forward to being involved in these ministries. Margaret was not only committed to her church, but to her community and her family. Her family was one of her biggest joys, always looking forward to the holidays, family events and just being able to enjoy a one on one time with a family member.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Roy and Alice Britton; her husband of forty-five years, Al Beers; brother, Albert (Freda) Britton; and two sisters, Ima (Donnie) Compton and Ina (George) Carey.</p> <p>She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Alan (Joanne) Beers of Cuba, MO and Rev. Jerry (Shelley) Beers of Steelville, MO; and one daughter, Sheila Anderson of Steelville, MO; eight grandchildren, Russell (Angela) Counts and Bethany&nbsp; (Eric) Martin all of Steelville, Jodi (Ryan) Hanchey of North Palm Beach, FL, Amy Beers of Kansas City, MO, Hannah (Wesley) Sutton of Jefferson City, MO, Jacob Beers of St. Louis MO, Jordan Beers of Springfield, MO, and girlfriend, Taylor Frank and Emily Beers of Springfield, MO; three great-grandchildren, Jacey Counts, MaKenna Sappington and Emma Martin; other relatives; and many friends.</p> <p>The Family received friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Steelville Assembly of God Church.</p> <p>Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Steelville Assembly of God Church&nbsp; with Rev. Jerry Harris and Rev. Chuck Whitmire officiating. Special music of &quot;Goodness of God&quot; and &quot;Beulah Land&quot; was sung and played by the Beers Family, Jerry, Shelly, Hannah, Jordan, Jacob and Emily. Other music of &quot;Go Rest High&quot; was sung and played by Jacob and Jordan Beers. Memories were shared by grandson, Russell Counts. Live streaming on the Britton-Bennett Facebook page is available.</p> <p>Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.</p> <p>Honored to be casket bearers were Russel Counts, Eric Martin, Jordan Beers, Jacob Beers, Ryan Hanchey and Wesley Sutton.</p> <p>The Beers Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.<br /> &nbsp;</p>
